WHERE WE PLAY...

Golf at the Ritz

GREAT WATERS
Great Waters, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-signature design, winds through densely wooded evergreen corridors only to open up to nine holes featuring the blue waters of Lake Oconee as the rough. Named as one of the best courses in Georgia, second only to Augusta National, Great Waters is one of the most aesthetically inspiring golf courses in the continental United States.

OCONEE COURSE
The Oconee Course, the Rees Jones-designed resort course, presents a golfing challenge unmatched by any other in the nation. Described by many as "mind-game golf," the new Jones addition to the Reynolds Plantation landscape is designed to be a true risk/reward challenge. Noted for its spectacular par threes, the course offers five holes in which Lake Oconee comes directly into play and four others tendering magnificent lake views. The interior creeks and ponds and expansive vistas provide spectacular scenery and ensure an unrivalled challenge for players of all experience levels.

THE NATIONAL COURSE
The National Course, designed by Tom Fazio is the third gem at Reynolds Plantation. Boasting 27-holes, the National features impressive elevations, wonderful views and several holes skirting the shores of Lake Oconee. The site, with dense forests of hardwoods, pines, flowering wild dogwoods and some of Lake Oconee's most dramatic lakefront topography, provides a perfect canvas for the artistry of Tom Fazio, one of golf's premier modern architects.

REYNOLDS LANDING
Reynolds Landing, is the original golf course on Lake Oconee and is centered on a classic Bob Cupp golf course that earned numerous awards when it opened in 1986.

PLANTATION COURSE
Plantation Course, has been ranked among the “Ten Best New Courses.” and is characterized by a natural, rolling layout that possesses innumerable subtleties. The hills are natural to the terrain, but the funny lies and bounces result from the ingenuity of shaping during construction.” Many of the pleasures of play here have little to do with swings and scores and much to do with the magnificence of the setting.

Day-by-Day

Saturday April 11: Arrive Atlanta

Fly into Atlanta and make your way to the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead. The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead is the Rolls Royce of Atlanta hotels. Every inch of this hotel oozes luxury, from the lobby to the public areas, which are graced with Regency and Georgian antiques and an outstanding collection of 18th- and 19th-century artwork. The quality of service matches the sumptuous surroundings. The location is also excellent - on the fringe of lovely neighbourhoods, across the street from two upscale shopping arcades, and close to Buckhead's fine restaurants and nightspots. After meeting your Horizon guide at the hotel check-in, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, Atlanta. Meals: None

Day 2 - Sunday April 12 - Masters Golf Tournament (Final Day)

Meet in the hotel lobby at 6:30am for a two hour coach transfer to Augusta National. To ensure a speedy (and memorable!) arrival, a police escort guides us through the traffic in Augusta. On arrival at the course, make your way to the private hospitality area for a brief orientation and to receive your Masters Patron's Badge, one of the world's most coveted tickets for any event, sporting or otherwise. Spend the rest of the day following your favourite world-class golfers across the pristine contours of the emerald course on the final day as they pursue the hallowed green jacket, or escape the crowds and enjoy a bounty of gourmet refreshments in our private hospitality room. The plentiful array of fresh seafood, grilled meats, sandwiches on home-baked breads, local cheeses and an ongoing open bar is sure to satisfy the gastronomes in the crowd. Following the presentation ceremony, meet at the hospitality pavilion to return your Patron's Badge. Board our coach for the transfer to the luxurious Reynold's Plantation, in Greensboro, Georgia. Share your tales of the tournament over a nightcap in the hotel. Overnight: The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. Meals: All day hospitality in Augusta.

Day 3 - Monday April 13 - Golf (1PM Shotgun Start)

Sleep in this morning and spend a leisurely few hours enjoying the luxurious amenities around the plantation. Unwind in the hotel spa with a Spring Body Polish (a soothing exfoliation treatment that blends Blessed Thistle and Peru Balsam to balance and restore skin) or squeeze in an early round of golf at one of the award-winning courses on site. After an early lunch, tee off at one of the five Reynolds Plantation courses for a round of 18 holes. Spend the evening at your leisure and eat in any of the excellent restaurants in the resort. Gaby's by the Lake is a casual spot located by the pool, and offers some of the most inspiring views of Lake Oconee. If you prefer to sample some of the delectable regional dishes, then try Georgia's, winner of the prestigious 2005 AAA Four Diamond Award. Their signature is Southern cuisine with gourmet flair, using traditional local ingredients with a contemporary twist. The stone fireplace and exposed timber ceilings create a relaxed yet refined dining atmosphere. Overnight: The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. Meals: None
