Travel Advisor – Nancy Seiter
Certifications: Ireland Specialist & Virtuoso Voyages Specialist
Nancy’s #1 Travel Tip
Nancy has been in the travel industry for 35 years. She was always very interested in geography growing up, and she became intrigued with the travel industry when she first picked up the book published by the OAG (“Official Aviation Guide”) each year listing every airport in the world. There weren’t even any pictures in the book, but Nancy was fascinated by the destinations she could learn about and travel to. These days, Nancy enjoys learning everything she can about her clients so she can customize each vacation experience based on their specific desires and budget. If you’re looking for an experienced travel advisor who can help you with trips to Western Europe or planning luxury cruise experiences, Nancy is the agent for you!
Areas of Specialty: Western Europe & Luxury Cruises
Nancy has always been a hands-on learner in the travel industry. She initially became fascinated with the United Kingdom (UK) and the rest of Europe from various educational trips she took in her early years as a travel advisor. Ireland is one of Nancy’s favorite destinations, having visited there many times, and she even sits on the Irish Tourist board. Nancy thinks it’s extremely important to visit the destinations you specialize in as an advisor to be able to give recommendations on specific hotels, destinations, and experiences.
She also enjoys cruising and specializes in organizing group cruises. For many years, Nancy hosted a baseball cruise with the great Hall of Fame Major League Baseball manager Earl Weaver!
Must-Do Experiences in Western Europe: United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain & Italy
Nancy has trouble narrowing down the best experiences in Western Europe because there are so many! Here are some of her favorite destinations in a few countries:
- In Spain, Nancy recommends the Alhambra palace and fortress in Granada (see photo above), which dates back to the year 889! Santiago de Compostala is also an amazing site—the city’s massive cathedral is a popular Catholic pilgrimage site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- In France, Nancy says you must visit the Carcassonne castle (see below), where many films and television shows have been filmed. You can also see stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea from the hilltop village of Èze in Provence. And for a bit of glamour, spend a day in the independent country of Monaco along the French Riviera.
- In Ireland, you can’t beat the natural beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way (pictured in section above). Nancy says just about everyone who travels to Ireland does the scenic drive known as the Ring of Kerry, but few take the entire tour around the Dingle Peninsula—which she highly recommends for its view of sandy beaches, deep blue ocean water, and craggy cliffs.
Must-Do Luxury Cruise Experiences
Nancy recommends cruises because of their unique ability to bring travelers to various destinations in the same trip without having to pack and unpack at each stop. When you’re not sure if you want to spend a long period of time in a particular city or country, cruises can be a great way to sample various destinations and decide where you want to return for a longer stay in the future!
Nancy is excited by the changes happening in the river cruising industry. These cruises are becoming much more “active,” allowing travelers to partake in exciting activities on land like backroads biking trips and wellness activities in state-of-the-art fitness centers. These activities as well as perks like farm-to-table dining and world-class lecturers are opening up river cruises to younger, more active audiences than ever before.
