Travel Advisor – Stephanie Petros
Stephanie’s #1 Travel Tip
A Note From Stephanie
“I’ve been a travel advisor for 41 years and still love what I do! I get to know my clients by engaging them in conversation. I listen to them, get to know their likes and dislikes. Doing that helps me tailor the perfect trip.
During my many years in this industry I have witnessed the ups and the ‘almost’ demise of the industry. Those who love it are still here and we are stronger and better than ever.
I love cruising and have been on many Caribbean, Mediterranean and Alaska cruises.
On a personal note, I am a first generation Greek-American and I speak fluent Greek. I have been to visit my parents birth island and country.
I would love to help you plan your next trip.”
Stephanie Petros has been in the travel industry for 41 years as of 2017, so she knows her stuff! She decided she wanted to work in the travel industry after she graduated college. She worked at a company where, every day, she watched travel advisors at a counter across the room plan trips for customers (and go on trips themselves!). She said that’s when she knew she wanted to help people plan trips of a lifetime.
Since then, Stephanie has helped countless individuals and families plan their trips around the world, and she finds great satisfaction in ensuring every adventure is a success! She says the best thing about using a travel agency to plan your travel, rather than doing it yourself, is that your advisor truly cares about your experience and always has your back. When something goes wrong or plans need to change, your advisor will always take the time to make sure every detail is just right.
One of Stephanie’s recent trips that she loved was a Mediterranean cruise to Rome, Florence, and Naples. It was her first time on a Mediterranean cruise and she says it’s a trip she would recommend to anyone!
Areas of Specialty: the Caribbean, South Pacific & Cruises
There are many ways to enjoy the Caribbean and South Pacific regions, but Stephanie’s favorite way is to take a cruise. She says she loves taking cruises in the Caribbean because you get to see so many different places on one trip. You’ll get to sail the ocean and take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of many different destinations all in a matter of days! An added benefit of taking a cruise rather than just flying to one destination is that you can sample many destinations at once, and then you can decide what areas you’d like to take a longer trip to.
Outside of the Caribbean and South Pacific regions, Stephanie also enjoys planning cruises to Alaska. Whether you want to see the Northern Lights, watch for whales and other wildlife, or participate in an Iditarod race, an Alaska cruise is one you won’t soon forget.
Must-Do Experiences in the Caribbean & South Pacific
If you’re interested in taking a trip to the Caribbean or the South Pacific, there are many great destinations and activities depending on your interests. If you’re interested in an active adventure, you might hike through the Pitons on St. Lucia. These volcanic mountains reach over 2,500 feet into the air!
The Caribbean and South Pacific islands are also beautiful and romantic honeymoon destinations. Whether you’re interested in golfing at one of the Dominican Republic’s top courses or just laying on the beach with umbrella drinks in French Polynesia, Saint Barthelemy (“St. Barts”), or Bora Bora, this region won’t disappoint. Stephanie says you can’t pass up spending a night in an over-the-water bungalow in Tahiti or French Polynesia. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!
“Eat something on your trip that you wouldn’t eat at home.” – Stephanie Petros
